…and this is what is going on…

I feel like I should be wayyy better at this blog updating thing – especially since I am all of 21 days away from my wedding… but I think since I am 21 days away from my wedding is why I am not updating as much.  SO much going on.

This week for work – I was out sick Monday. Tuesday I worked in my office.  Wednesday I was in Marietta. Thursday in my office and Friday in Alpharetta.  Just call me and office nomad. I will be in Marietta again tomorrow. And then our office all week.  And then the next week I will in in the North Carolina Triad area.

As you know… Kyle and I got his + her cars.  Legit … matchy matchy same jeeps!car.  We both LOVE them.  And I am pretty sure these car is bigger than my Pathfinder was and I love BIG!  Our garage does look a little ridiculous (as you can see) but I am loving that I can stream the music from my iPhone to my radio and that I can stream my phone though my car so I can talk hands free.  Evidently, the car can take E-85 gas, which is cheaper … but I don’t know a lot about it but all I have read is that you actually get worse gas mileage.  I need an education in the car and gas world.  Please and thank you.

Last night was my last dress fitting!!  And my maid and matron of honor came to learn how to do the bustle.  And then we went to dinner and it was SO good to see both of them.  They both work for the same company and work all the time and travel and then with my bus and then with my busy life, I don’t get to see them as much as I would like to.  So…. it was good to just decompress and catch up!  I love my dress and they’re putting the final touches on it so I can pick it up late next week!!!

Today I worked out – Blast900 – even though I just wanted to stay in bed and sleep in and then headed to my 75 minute facial (thanks half off  depot) and it was amazing.  My face currently resembles a pre-teen’s with all it’s acne and zits trying to pop through.  Hopefully my face will clear up significantly over the next few weeks.

Tomorrow is Kyle’s birthday and I get the great honor of taking him to Fogo. …As he feasts on way too much meat on a stick, I will be grazing at the salad bar.  ….he does realize he is getting married and he is working out to LOSE the weight that he is about to put on tomorrow?  Oh boys!!

New Car :: Sticker Debate.

So.  I have a new car!! Yay!! Kyle and I {pretty much on a whim} decided to buy new Jeeps this weekend/Monday night.  My old Pathfinder had so many distiguishing stickers on it.  When I was in college, people knew my car just by the front license plate and the Alabama sticker on the back.  Now, I have the 26.2 and 13.1 and "some girls chase boys, I pass them" stickers.
my pathfinder - we have had some pretty amazing times.

but now I have to ask myself.... what do I do about running stickers??  {I am prepared to offend some people}.  I feel like I need to re-earn those stickers.  It has been SO long since I ran those distances and if I want to display them on my car or get a license plate frame or anything like that ... I need to be a legit half or full marathoner.  Not someone who ran a 2 fulls, 2 years ago and a handful of halfs, 2 years ago.  While I know and understand those distances and miles and races are something no one can take from you and all that jazz - but that is what you have the medals for.

Thoughts? Feelings?

New - His + Her Cars.

Ever since I rented a Jeep on my work trip to Florida I have been dead set on getting myself a new Jeep.  I am unsure how this all happened - just 1 month ago I put like $1000+ in my Pathfinder and swore I would not buy a new car until {at the earliest} next year.  Kyle on the other hand ... he needed a new car and needed on badly.  and of course -- he just paid for his car inspection and all that fun stuff.

Well.  I somehow found a dealership that had brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee's on sale for like $22,815... which is the "wholesale" cost and Kyle and I had to see if it was for real.  ...and it was.  And one thing lead to another and now we both have new cars!

I cannot believe we have matching cars and I keep joking that I went from caviar (leather, 6 disc CD player, sunroof, automatic seats) to fish sticks (cloth interior, single CD player,  and a seat that i have to use a leaver for - which, i am still not *thrilled* about the seat).  ....and kyle just calls me his little princess.

Doggie Hammock - Seat Protector!
Now... my crafy mom gets to make my dogs this fabulous doggie hammock - seat protector thing.  I want to take really good care of this car and having my muddy, smelly dogs in the back seat as often as I do is not fun for those people who have to sit in the back seat.  So, now I will have a hammock that my dogs can sit and relax on & I can take it down/off when I transport people around Atlanta.  =)

But with all this said, I am not looking forward to my $300 car payment or my car insurance going up (but we decided to merge our car insurance together when we tell them about our new cars - for a cost savings).  AND I just put like $58 worth of gas in my car just Sunday ....but I am excited to have a new car.  =D

But all happiness and excitement aside... I got a little sad when cleaning out my Pathfinder.  I've had that bad boy for 7 years and so many amazing memories were made in that car and laughs were shared with awesome people.  And who would think one could get so attached to car?!  But all the memories of the roadtrips and nights around tuscaloosa just made me walk down memory lane!

So if you're ever in Atlanta and want to go for a spin ... I can drive!

thursday thoughts.

This week really has been a chore thus far.  Monday did not go smoothly at all and Tuesday was a train wreck at work.  I guess all week cannot go well right?  But (as you know)... Kyle and I did put up the Christmas tree this past weekend and a Christmas tree just makes everything better.  I also joined the iPhone world (thanks to my company paying for $150 of it) and never have I had a phone that outsmarts me before! =D

1. do you know what sucks? knowing you want a new car and need a new car but realizing that you really cannot afford a car payment right now. ...correction: a car payment on a suv and you really want is a suv. (and really what i want want is a Volvo CX90) ... so i will be holding onto big old black 1 more year and I guess i will just be buying myself 2 new tires and replacing that cracked belt.  and holding onto this car for another year.  le sigh, being an adult sucks.

2.  I am pretty sure if there was a casting director for Bridezillas near me on Monday I would have been instantly offered a spot on the show.  The poor manager at Demetrios got the end of my frustrations about my vendors and their inability to keep a scheduled appointment.  Long story short: Demetrios called to "reschedule" my dress fitting Friday and instead of calling to see if it would be ok to change and then keeping the appointment (a la Hazlehurst House) they just cancelled all together.  And hi. hello.  I am traveling for work next week, then home for the holidays, and then it is 2012.  So yeah. My new 1st dress fitting: January 6th.  I should have taken the house or the car that my dad offered because this wedding planning thing sucks. But seriously, when I was in sales I NEVER cancelled appointments.  I found a way to be there or sent someone in my place.  It is rule #1 of customer service -- value your client's time.

3.  I started putting our candy bar together this past weekend.  Not putting candy in the jars (since the wedding is 107 days off) but attaching the tags to the jars and of my goodness do they look cute.  I absolutely LOVE them.  If you're having a candy bar at your wedding (or any event) and need tag/labels I totally recommend Sweet Talk Designs on Etsy.  I legit, could not be happier with the final outcome.  I love them so much I am going to use the same lady to make the to-go candy bags.

4.  I also started wrapping up some bridesmaid's gifts this past weekend. And I LOVE LOVE LOVE what I have gotten my ladies.  I cannot wait till the bridesmaid brunch to give them their gifts!  In fact, I love them so much I added part of them to my Christmas list & bought another part for myself.

5.  I feel like in general I am a pretty neurotic person.  Kyle always tells me that I immediately hit the "panic button" ...  well I am still wondering about the weather in March. I feel like the floral design we did for our ceremony site would look AWFUL inside if it rained or was too cold to get married outside .... so I am beginning to wonder if I should move the ceremony site from the fireplace to the big brick wall and do something like this (minus all those weird green bushes on the left):
So, have the two arrangements at the top of the aisle then the clothy looking thing at the end.  That would transfer inside beautifully.  Seriously, I an neurotic.  But half of me REALLY wants to price this out because with the way all the wedding planning is going (cancelled appointments, trying to reschedule appointments) it is bound to hurricane on my wedding day.

6.  Oh and in good news - Kennesaw went to daycare last Friday and did WONDERFULLY! =D  So she is cleared the spend the night.  She is going tomorrow (with out her big brother) to see how she does on her own.  But they told me last week that she just played and played.  They are still on wait lists at both day care and the vet for holiday boarding so it looks like they will have to make one last trip to VA with us ... however, they're going to stay with Kyle's Mom and not me.  They may be at my house for less than 24 hours (dropped off afternoon of Christmas, gone the day after Christmas).  That is all kinda an added holiday stress that we're about to have to deal with.  We know for next Thanksgiving & Christmas -- make the reservations early!

I cannot believe that we're 107 days away from the wedding.  Soon we will be in the double digits only.  I

i want a treadmill - but not really.

i decided i totally want a treadmill for my apartment. i am not actually going to get one because (a) i want a new car and that $1,000 would be better suited in a saving account for when i choose to purchase an automobile that isn't ghetto and does not have a tail light that falls every summer. (b) because i live on the 2nd floor of an apartment complex & i am pretty sure the people below me would get us evicted from the constant pounding. (c) i live in an apartment... where in hells bells would i put it. (d) i have a menacing dog who won't even let me do sit ups without biting at my toes and kyle cannot do push ups without being hopped on. do i really think he will let me run 4 miles in peace?! and (e) it's a great idea in theory, but i am sure i would use it just as often as i use my balance ball, which is just about never. sure, i would use it in the summer and on rainy days and bitterly cold winter days, but really, how much would I really use it.

but how nice would it be to be able to just run while watching hours of trashy reality television like the real housewives of (enter city name here) or chelsea lately. i would run every time i want to punch kyle square in the teeth too. but let's be realistic, i am 26 and i cannot afford a piece or machinery to run on so i will continue paying LA Fitness $29.99 to get my run on in this hot summer heat.

that was my random thought that i thought of while walking my dog last night.
