Polling the audience.

I NEED YOUR HELP!
Hey Runners. Help me out here! SO! One of my co-workers at our corporate office just signed up to run her first half marathon (she is doing Disney!) and because I adore her, I wanted to make her a little training and recovery basket. SO!
What would you want?
What should I put in there?!
I have the Gels, Chomps, BodyGlide, and Runners World covered -- but do you have any other ideas?!

  1. A pair of your favorite running socks. I ran in regular cotton socks until my feet turned all blistery and I discovered tech socks. It might save her some misery :)

    Seriously, maybe a pair of socks so she can know what kind are the best for running.

    a handheld water bottle.

    something to remember the experience by. maybe something from the store lift your sole.

    a picture frame that she can put her race bib in.

  7. You can get at-home spa stuff so she can pamper herself. Maybe bath salts, bubble bath, lotion, that kind of stuff!

  9. A cd with your favorite running tunes on it for her to put on her ipod. Perhaps a fuel belt? Gift card to help get a new pair of running shoes.

  10. Recovery - Gift card for a pedi, a 13.1 necklace maybe? Training - maybe shorts or a cute hat, socks, or a fuel belt? The Spirit of the Marathon movie, or a fun running book (if she's a mom, 'Run Like a Mother' is a great choice. Have fun putting your basket together!

  12. Gift card to Big Peach, water bottle, mix cd to start her off, running log ( I know amazon and borders both have some nice spiral notebooks specifically for training), bondi band.

    I would save the 13.1 stickers, necklaces, shirts or whatever until she finishes...

  14. I'm SOOO behind on blogs, that all of the good stuff has been taken! So, here are a few of the more 'exotic' things that may or may may not have been added:

    Body Glide
    List of good running websites (map my run, dailymile, mcmillian, etc)
    Some of that fancy sport wash stuff
    GU, power bars, shot bloks, sport beans, etc (key here is for variety so she knows what she likes)
