Honeymoon Pictures!

Kyle and I had a REALLY good time in St. Lucia on our honeymoon.  The 5 days was not long enough and I am already begging to go back {obviously we need to win the lo tto or something}.  But… as luck would have it, my camera decided to self destruct a week before our wedding.  And since the camera is fixable we decided to just take a disposable camera with us rather than shelling out on a new digital camera.  So… we didn’t get a lot of pictures, but then again we really spent a lot of our time hanging out by the pool, sleeping in till 10:30, and eating nachos and hot dogs.

Our last day at the resort!

On the “Joe Knows” boat tour of St. Lucia!  …this was a really fun day!

We got to go into the only drive in active volcano and take 104* mud baths and sulpher spring hot tub baths.  Sounds (and looks) gross… but it was actually really cool!

Kyle and me in front of the Pitons! …and we learned the one on the right is actually taller/bigger than the one on the left!

A picture of our resort! ….it really was sooo pretty!

And another.  Kyle and I enjoyed hanging out in the cabanas at night.  It was so so so peaceful!

Seriously…. can I go back?!  I should have obviously been born on an island!

We're Back!

I know I am getting WAY ahead of myself to already be talking about the Honeymoon {there has not even been a wedding post yet} - but we're back!  St. Lucia was AMAZING - I wish I was born on an island - and so so beautiful.  The oceans were not as blue by the shore as I would have thought - but I could still see my feet and that was amazing!  ....The car rides to and from the resort were touch and go... those people are insane crazy drivers ... but that is a minor blip in the grand scheme of a fabulous time in paradise!

I promise to share pictures soon because Kyle and I took the most amazing boat tour of the island and got to go IN a volcano and take hot mud baths and then hot sulphur spring baths to get the mud off our bodies and then we washed the mud off our faces at the most amazingly gorgeous waterfall {cold. but beautiful} .... and we snorkeled ... and saw where the Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed ... and Oprah's vacation home ... and had a true legit St. Lucia Creole lunch {yum}  .... so those pictures will be fabulous!  ...seriously, if you're ever in St. Lucia -- take the Joe Knows Boat Tour ... amazing!

Oh and Kyle and I learned that we are old people and that we have an unhealthy obsession with shuffle board. Seriously, so fun.

And I ate more nachos and hot dogs than humanly possible in 4 days!  ...Nachos more than anything!  Oh and the frozen umbrella drinks.  ...oi.  Can we go back?!

But!  I wanted the world to know we're back - we're great - longest flight EVER back to Atlanta thanks to weather delays in Miami - but what is most important .... we still like each other after all the travel woes!

Rawr. [again]

Bless.

I think this honeymoon is going to be nothing but stress.  Isn't the wedding supposed to cause the stress and anxiety?  For us... it is the honeymoon.

Kyle got an email today about our flights being changed.  We got to St. Lucia just fine; however, leaving St. Lucia that is the tricky part.  Our new flights have us leaving San Juan Puerto Rico rather than St. Lucia. ...which no means of transportation to get us to Puerto Rico.

Fabulous right?

Well... 1 phone call to Sandals and being on hold for oh 34 minutes we have it fixed.  2:45 leaving St. Lucia. layover in Miami. back to Atlanta at 11:40 PM.  9 hours of travel.  Yeah - this is the TRUE test of our love for each other.

3 Things Thursday

Another week closer to the big day. Another week of wedding conversations and living life.

1. Kyle and I went to look at tuxes this past Saturday and it ended up only being a consultation.  We have to go back in 3 weeks for Kyle to try them all on and model them for me.  Honestly, Kyle did not get a word in… I answered all the questions so other than Kyle needing to be measured there was no real reason for him to be there.  Currently, we’re leaning towards the darker gray but we will know for sure in a few weeks.  Kyle behaved himself for the most part, but you could tell near the end that his boredom was coming out when he started putting on all the hats and staring at himself in the mirror.  Now I just have to depend on the boys to go and get their measurements and since they’re boys I know this is going to be 10 times harder than it was to get my bridesmaids to get their measurements in and getting my girls to do it was difficult.  Needless to say, I will be stalking the wedding manager on Savvi Formal wear and then I will start stalking the boys.

2.  I got my passport this weekend after the big post office screw up.  So it is official, Kyle will not be going on the moneymoon alone.  Guess that means I need to start shopping for cute honeymoon bathing suits and doing some ab work.  ….now I just need to remember to change my name on my passport when I am changing my name on everything else because I don’t want to have to pay to do that a year or so after the wedding.  …..St. Lucia here we come! =D

3.  I got my rehearsal dinner dress this week and it is FABULOUS on so many levels.  One of my bridesmaids, Heather, is no lie the cutest person ever and she found it and sent it to me and was like “order this and order it now” … I saw it, I loved it, I ordered it, it came in, I put it on, and I loved it even more.  Now, I lets just have our fingers crossed …. well, I will leave it at that.

Have a good Friday and weekend!!

wedding, honeymoon, ugh rant.

of course of course wedding planning can’t just be all fine and dandy and not stressful at all right?  coming off an exciting day of finding out that wedding presents are being bought of course something horrible has to happen the next day.

I should have known something was not right when Kyle got his passport and I did not get mine.  Why didn’t I get mine you ask?  Oh because the Post Office is full of Mo-Rons and they screwed up my application; therefore, my passport application was oh REJECTED.  Yeah. Rejected meaning – don’t pass go. don’t collect $200. start over. go back to the idiots and the post office and start over.  START OVER!

Current mood: steaming annoyed.

So lets explain how and why is was rejected.  It was rejected because I “printed my name” and they cannot accepted printed names on the signature line.  Yes. Yes. I did print my name – only because the “smart” postman told me to print my name next to my SIGNATURE.  so not only did I actually put my signature on there, I printed it as well only because I was told to by someone who was supposedly a “passport professional”.

And now I get to go back to the post office and probably back to the same stupid postman and tell him that he needs to fix what he screwed up.  And with my luck I am going to have to wait another 4 weeks to get an appointment (we need appointments down here) and then hope and pray that they do not screw it up again and then I have to wait the 6-8 weeks to get my passport.

Yeah, I am not so sure St. Lucia is worth all this.  And I cannot wait to pay the post office $25 again at that appointment because they made a mistake. (seriously, this honeymoon is a moneymoon)  Just pray that I can keep my cool with them because I have a really hard time talking to incompetent people nicely.

Adventures in “Moneymoon” planning

We have given our honeymoon the nickname “moneymoon” …. because it is so expensive and is going to cost a lot of money. har har har, we’re so funny.

But today was our passport application day and going to the bank to transfer money day and just a morning of time spent together.  And goodness, it was a total adventure.

I had a 9:00 passport appointment and Kyle had his appointment at 9:15.  Thursday night I filled out our applications online and printed them.  Gathered the pictures together and put them in a folder with our check books.  I was super prepared (or so I though).  We got to the Post Office this morning (after dodging about 50 cyclists acting all erratic)  to find out we have my passport photos, but Kyle’s …. yeah they’re at home.  (I somehow forgot to pack them.)  Luckily, we go to the post office at 8:50 so Kyle left to go grab his and I went along and applied for my passport.  Kyle gets back to the post office & is looking over his application and yeah…. our printer ran out of back ink so his application was pretty much blank.  (yeah, I probably should have checked that…) ….SO I was writing super fast to fill out his application.  Needless to say, Kyle made it back in time for his 9:15 appointment and we both paid our $135 to be passport owners.  (Super big thanks to the postman who told me that I have a year to change my name for free on the passport.)

From the post office we headed to Navy Federal so I could give Kyle $1000 so we could put the $2000 down to book our moneymoon to St. Lucia.  (now do you understand why we’re calling it a moneymoon?!?!)  Pretty painless, I may have stuttered when I said transfer $1000 to his account, but it is okay.  We’ve booked our 5 day trip to St. Lucia. (checking another thing off my knot.com to do list)

We then decided to go to breakfast because it was 10:00 in the morning and leaving the bank Kyle’s driving was less than stellar.  He accidently ran a red light as I said “and you’re aware you’re running a red light right?!” (on accident and no worries Mom and Auntie Jean, we’re alive and safe and in 1 piece) and the cars on 85north were less than amazing with their slow driving or erratic changing of lanes. But I introduced Kyle to The Waffle House and a big breakfast for under $20 and we made it there safe and sound.  =)

As a wrap up….  we should have passports in 4-6 weeks, Kyle likes The Waffle House, and Kyle and I decided that nothing good happens before 11:00 AM on the weekends so we should just sleep in or hide out in our house on the couch.  That.is.the.life.
